Kelty KIDS Child Carriers have been on the market for many years and have a reputation for being well built and comfortable. Founded in 1952 Dick Kelty at first only made his backpacks for family and friends but as they became more and more popular moved into manufacturing on a larger scale.
Kelty also specialise in other outdoor products like tents, sleeping bags and strollers and have a lot of experience in the outdoor market. Another plus is they test all the products themselves so quality is always assured.
They have two main ranges the Kelty KIDS FC & TC line of child carriers. The FC range is more expensive and suitable for long treks outdoors whereas the TC range although good is better used in a town environment.
Kelty’s main FC range comes in three models the 1.0, 2.0 & 3.0. The 1.0 is pretty much obsolete and will be difficult to find and the 2.0 and 3.0 are fairly similar.
The Kelty KIDS FC 3.0 is different to the 2.0 in that it has a sun / rain hood included and an upgraded padded back panel to aid breathability.
As the difference in price is about $50 if you can live without the hood the 2.0 is better value for money as it’s almost indistinguishable from the more expensive 3.0 model.
