Kelty is a well known name in the outdoor equipment market. They’ve been in business since 1952 and have specialised in this type of equipment.
The Kelty Child Carrier range comes in two distinct types. The Kelty FC & TC ranges of child carrier.
The TC range is less expensive and doesn’t come with the full array of accessories like the FC range does (Sun Hood, mobile phone pocket) and has a slightly different back. The TC range is great for taking your child shopping and for short to medium walks but may lack the comfort required for long hikes in the wilderness.
The Kelty KIDS FC range comes with many additional items and has been specifically designed to be comfortable when out for long walks / hikes. It’s upgraded back panel gives better ventilation than it’s cheaper model. It also has a 50lb maximum load as opposed to 40lbs for the TC.
Both models boast a light weight aluminium frame, organizer pocket, water bottle pocket, stabilizer for safe loading / unloading and a diaper changing mat.
The similarity between the two models makes it challenging to pick the right one. The bottom line is both will do the job but for an extra $60 the FC range has an upgraded weight limit (which means you’ll get more use out of it) some extras and is more comfortable.
